Text Box: THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Medics have come to the conclusion that to rejuvenate your brain cells as well as your spirit so that to live a long and full life you need to be in a constant studying process (phenomenon of big scientists, writers, composers, artists). Learning or trying something entirely new and challenging is like “life water” for those people. So why would not take the lessons of wisdom from “masters” of life and try something entirely new and challenging in order to flex your brain muscles, like, for example, learning a foreign language, especially if this is the language of the rich Russian culture. The Russian language can bring you to the wisdom of the Russian classics, such as Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, Gogol and Chekhov. It can give you opportunity to meet interesting people and talk to them on their own language. It would give you the feeling of confidence while traveling to Russia. It would bring you closer to the world community; as 180 million people in the world consider Russian their native language.
